Miami Murder Defense Lawyer
Defense Against Your Murder Charges
Don’t risk the possibility of spending decades or even the rest of your life behind bars. I am a dedicated, experienced attorney who understands that all crimes – including murder – are not necessarily open-and-shut cases. Sometimes, a person facing a criminal charge is innocent. Sometimes crimes are accidental. Sometimes there are contributing factors to the arrest that are not documented in a police report.
That’s why at my firm, Jonathan B. Blecher, P.A., I take the time to listen to each of my client’s stories carefully in order to build a strong and effective defense. Don’t trust just any criminal lawyer to defend you if you are facing murder charges. I have defended thousands of clients facing criminal charges during my 30 years of service and I am highly qualified to defend you. Read my case results for more information about victories.
Penalties Associated With Murder Offenses
It is extremely important to seek an experienced criminal defense attorney when facing murder charges. The severity of murder charges depends on the type of murder committed. The sentences following a murder conviction vary in length, but all are extremely long and certainly life-changing:
- First degree: death penalty or life without parole
- Second degree: 10 years to life in prison
- Third degree: 15 to 25 years in prison
- Manslaughter: 9 ¼ to 30 years in prison
- Vehicular homicide: Up to 30 years in prison
A murder conviction can alter the rest of your life. Even if you are not sentenced to life in prison, you would be facing serious repercussions following your release when your sentence is over. You would be forced to tell every possible employer that you had served time for murder; it would be extremely difficult to find a job.

Both professional and personal relationships would suffer from a murder conviction. A murder conviction could limit you from seeing your children because you would lose custody while in prison. Your life could be radically changed by a conviction, so you need an excellent defense lawyer who will fight for you.
